Abstract:
Sound package plays an important role in interior noise level and sound quality of passenger vehicle. For this reason, the definition, design, and development of a sound package are significant to meet acoustic target of vehicle-level. In many situations, this development is conducted experimentally, or reversely developed based on benchmark. Of more value is the ability to develop and optimize sound package components in the early design phase,
i.e. to leverage analytical tools for defining component-level requirements and targets to meet the vehicle-level targets, and ultimately to fulfill the final customer's expectations. This paper presents a development and optimization process of sound package design combining the CAE SEA-based prediction and experiment. Based on the above process, the performance of sound package and the mid-high frequency noise level of vehicle can be evaluated in the early design phase. Additionally, on the basis of meeting vehicle NVH target, the weight and configuration of sound package can be optimized.
