探测深海富钴结壳厚度的参量阵声呐系统关键技术研究

Key techniques of parametric array sonar for detecting the thickness of cobalt-rich crusts in deep sea

  • 摘要: 针对常规设备纵向分辨率较低(约为几十厘米)、无法准确探测富钴结壳厚度(约1~25 cm)的问题,提出了一种探测富钴结壳厚度的参量阵声呐系统。系统采用多脉冲叠加技术抑制噪声,提高信噪比;采用双频时延估计技术,提高了结壳厚度的探测精度。首先利用原频回波确定水-结壳界面回波到达时刻,然后通过检测差频回波包络的峰值,确定结壳-基岩界面的回波到达时刻,由结壳上下界面的回波到达时刻差值计算厚度。该系统对厚度为15 cm的富钴结壳进行了测量,与岩心取样的结果相比,测量结果较为准确。该系统对后续相关探测设备的研制具有一定的参考意义。

     

    Abstract: Due to its lower vertical resolution (about tens of centimeters), the conventional geo-sonar equipment is unable to be used for detecting the thickness of submarine cobalt-rich crusts (about 1~25 cm) accurately, therefore a parametric array sonar system is designed. In this system, the multi-pulse superposition technique is used to suppress noise and improve signal-to-noise ratio, and the dual-frequency time-delay estimation technique is used to improve the detection accuracy of crust thickness. The detection principle of the system is as follows:the primary frequency echo determines the echo arrival time from the water-crust interface, the peak of the difference frequency echo envelope is detected for estimating the echo arrival time from the crust-bedrock interface, and the thickness of the crust is calculated by the time delay difference of the echoes from the upper and lower interfaces of the crust. The system was used to measure the cobalt-rich crust with a thickness of 15 cm and the measurement results consistent with those of core sampling. The system proposed in this paper has certain reference significance for the development of subsequent relevant detection equipment.
