Abstract:
The click signal of bottlenose dolphin has high resolution and anti-reverberation ability. However, its research and application are still insufficient in China. The click signals of bottlenose dolphin generated in natural environment and in the pool have been recorded by the high frequency broad band recording system. Though statistical and com-parative analysis, it can be seen that the click signal length of the bottlenose dolphin in the pool is longer than that in the natural environment, while it has lower frequency and narrower frequency band compared to the click signal generated in the natural environment. The simplified expression for the click signal of bottlenose dolphin is established and used for further simulation analysis of its ambiguity function. The results show that the shorter click signal length of the bottlenose dolphin generated in the natural environment can help improve the target resolution; the lower frequency and narrower frequency band of click signal of the bottlenose dolphin in the pool can help improve anti-reverberation ability.
