Abstract:
This study uses the method of experimental phonetics and starts from the tone acquisition experiment to further understand the actual situation of non-native Chinese learners learning Mandarin and mastering tone. By the quantitative experimental research method, the tone perception of Uighur learners at two different levels (advanced level and primary level) is analyzed acoustically and the intonation state in the process of learning Mandarin is explored. In this paper, the perceptions of Mandarin tone acquisition by Uygur learners are investigated through the Mandarin tone recognition and distinguish experiments. Learners' recognition accuracy, error rate of each tone category and reaction time are calculated according to their perceptions of four tones of nine pure vowels and four tones of twelve compound vowels, and the data of Yangping and Shang tone discrimination experiment. Finally, the correlation between recognition accuracy and response time is analyzed by SPSS software, and the significant differences of the accuracy and response time of tone perception are tested respectively.
