Abstract:
The hyperbolic frequency modulation(HFM) waveform, which has the inherent Doppler-invariant property,is a common signal used in traditional active sonar. The echo of HFM pulse signal can stay matched to the matched filter, but it cannot be used to measure velocity and range accurately. The V-HFM pulse signal with the combined positive and negative HFM waveforms can solve the coupling fuzzy problem in measuring range and velocity, but there is interference of false targets in the case of double and multiple targets. Inspired by the V-HFM combination mode, a new combination method of HFM named N-HFM is proposed in this paper, which can reduce the probability of false targets. Test results in pool show that the N-HFM pulse signal can achieve high range-velocity resolution and strong ability suppressing false targets.
