Abstract:
A fast implementation of the hyper-beamforming method is proposed. Rather than performing the hyper-beamforming with the received signal directly, we first downshift the received signal from passband to sideband, and pass the sideband signal through a matched filter operating at a lower sampling rate. The hyper-beams are then formed by using the matched filter output. Compared with traditional implementation of the hyper-beamforming method, the proposed method enjoys less computational complexity, hence the easiness to implement in the real systems. Extensive lake-trial results are presented to validate the performance of the proposed method.
