Abstract: Comparing with the steady echoes, transient echoes have the advantages of broadband and capability of anti-hidden body in underwater targets recognition. The feasibilities of using wavelet transform to extract the edges of the echoes and then classify the targets based on the edge features have been studied in this paper. Study on a group of test data shows that this method has potential research values.
