Abstract:
Construction of new residential areas with special emphasis on environmental considerations involves creation of a healthy and comfortable living environment, and integration of social, economic and environmental benefits. Noise control is one of the important factors in this endeavor. Based on generally accepted criteria and requirements in noise control, this article analyzes noise sources in and around a small residential community, and suggests some effective measures for noise control. These measures can be used as a reference in assessment of environment, and as evaluation standards in the architectural design and construction.
