Abstract: Based on phase space reconstruction,three characteristic parameters,first order moment,similar sequence repeatability and entropy,are extracted from seabed echo signals.Statistical properties of the three parameters are used in the seabed classification.Results of sea experiments show that these parameters can be used to classify two seabed types,with good agreement with sediment sampling results.
