Abstract: Sound quality study is a newly developed research area.It has become a hot topic and is attracting increasing attention from academia and industries.Based on an extensive discussion over the sound quality issues,research progress in sound quality methodologies and assessment metrics are reviewed,and the prospects of the future development are discussed.Finally,applications and products that are centered around the improvement of sound quality are introduced.
