Abstract:
Programs for tracing acoustic rays through lenses and calculating sound fields in focal region are developed. Simulations of acoustic lens systems using these programs are performed. An acoustic lens has been made,and acoustic beam-forming experiments carried out. Experimental results are compared with the simulation. It is shown that the programs can produce accurate results,and are effective in predicting the focal length of acoustic lens system,width of acoustic beams and relative amplitude of beams incident from different angles. The programs can be used in designing acoustic lens systems.
