Abstract: Density of petroleum and petrochemicals is an important physical-chemical quality. To measure it accurately is important and has practical significance. This paper proposes a new method for measur-ing oil density,that is,to measure the whole time and the excess time of ultrasonic spreading respectively. The method overcomes for the disadvantages of measuring time differences and measuring phase changes,and greatly improves precision of the measurement.
