New type Integrated circuit devices and development of the advanced medical ultrasound scanner

This paper discusses briefly several new type integrated circuit devices an their important role in development of the advanced level medical ultrasound scanner. First, a brief introduction of the design principle and criteria of such ASIC devices as PLD, GA, SC, etc is made in the paper. Then, a discussion of the. advantages of using ASLC devices instead of traditional SSI/MSI devices is devoted and an account of the difficulties in popularizing ASIC devices in China is given. In the paper, also a simple description of digital signal processors, image processors and new central processor units is given.At the end of the paper, a proposal on the possibility of introducing these latest devices into the advanced level medical ultrasound scanners is put forward.
