Single vector sensor DEMON spectrum detection technique

  • The spectral envelope of noise radiated from underwater acoustic targets consists of modulation line components(DEMON).Based on the fact that different types of acoustic targets have different DEMON spectra, detection ability of single vector sensor with a DEMON spectrum is studied.A method for describing the vector accumulation as the phase of analytical acoustic intensity flux(AAIF) is discussed.Meanwhile, the AAIF phase indicates the target's azimuth.Computer simulations show that the detection ability is -20dB for wideband noise modulated by various base frequencies. The azimuth resolving ability is 10°with-15dB signal-to-noise ratio.
