  • In Perceptual audio coding,it is necessary to deal with the transient signals in a frame specially.And a reasonable transient detection is a premise of the treatment.Based on the characteristics of transient signals in time domain and frequency domain,a time-frequency transient detection method using the flatness measure of signals is proposes.Tested by MATLAB emulator,the method with less complexity of the algorithm has much less quantity of missed and misused detection in most testing music signals.Comparing with existing transient detection methods,the method improves the performance of missed and misused detection.At the same time,the complexity of the algorithm adaptively changes with the apparent extent of the transient signal.This method is high in detection accuracy and simple in algorithm realization.
